After a hectic few weeks of travel, I’m back at my desk for a bit. It’s been nice to pop the windows open and enjoy the low of humidity and blue skies. Of course, that started changing today…but the blackberries won’t ripen unless we get more rain.
Last week, we had a lovely gathering of members and some potential members hosted by our friends at Community Foundation of the Ohio Valley on June 18!Once again, I got busy talking with folks and didn’t grab a photo.
There are some great events coming up with members across the state! I’m excited to facilitate a panel discussion at TGKVF‘s “State of Our Community Forum & Nonprofit CEO Roundtable” on July 9 in Charleston. One of the benefits of having so many wonderful members here at Philanthropy West Virginia, is that I get to showcase the work folks are doing.

I had an opportunity to connect health care funders with Maren Niemeier, Information Resources Manager at Rural Health Information Hub. Maren walked folks through their website and offered tips on how to showcase rural health projects in our state. Visit the RHIhub here. New ARC Data Available
Appalachia Regional Commission shared new mapping of County Economic Status and Distressed Areas for FY 2027. Data is a three-year average of unemployment rates, per capita market income and poverty rates for all 423 of Appalachia’s counties. Dig into the full mapping application here.
