Staff & Board Members

A dedicated and passionate Board of Directors is vital to upholding the mission of Philanthropy West Virginia. Together with staff and members, the board works to strengthen philanthropy, support effective grant-writing, and advance options for communities across West Virginia.

Nominate a Board Member

Philanthropy West Virginia encourages nominations, including self nominations, for the Board of Directors. From the nominations received throughout the year, the Governance Committee proposes a slate of nominees to the membership in early autumn. Board members are elected by the membership during the Annual Meeting held each fall.

Nomination Review Criteria:

Experience in the philanthropic sector as a trustee, staff member, or current Philanthropy West Virginia member organization
Familiarity with Philanthropy West Virginia, as evidenced by conference attendance, participation in seminar and workshop activities, or presenter/expertise in delivery training
Service on Philanthropy West Virginia committees
Diversity, including race, gender, geography, and type of grantmaking institution
